GARAGE SALE ITEMS
Are you cleaning out your closets, decluttering your house, or planning to donate to a thrift store? Consider bringing your items to church to support the River of LIFE Youth Group's Huge Spring Garage Sale Fundraiser! Proceeds will go toward their July 2025 trip to New Orleans. Donations of clean, good-condition items can be placed in the hallway across from the water fountain. The sale is tentatively scheduled for the week after Easter. Thank you for supporting the Youth Group's trip to The Gathering!
CHRISTMAS CAROLING
Are Joy to the World, Silent Night and We wish you a Merry Christmas some of your favorite songs to sing? We need you for the best River of Life caroling experience ever! The whole family is invited! We will meet at 4:00 pm on December 22nd at River of Life. We will carol for about an hour and a half and then meet up again at church for pizza and Christmas treats. If you know of someone who would like us to visit them, please reach out to Kim Wernsing or Jim Christenson.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The River of LIFE Board of Directors is seeking individuals who are interested in serving on the board. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the leadership and mission of our church. If you feel called to serve, please speak with Pastor or one of the current board members to learn more about this important role.
DECEMBER GIVING MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
Did you know that nearly 30% of charitable giving occurs in the month of December? This past Tuesday, we kicked off our end of the year fundraising campaign. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the Mission of River of Life Lutheran. Your contributions go far beyond the Sunday Morning service. We offer bible studies, outreach in the community and fellowship opportunities. The board and staff have some great ideas that we would like to implement in 2025. We are currently in need of $50,000 to keep our budget on target.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM PRACTICE
Those participating in the Christmas program should plan to attend the dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 21. Music Performers practice in the sanctuary from 8:30–9:00. The Cast will work on costumes and run through the play with the Choir from 8:30–11:30am. Preschoolers, Kindergarteners, and Children's Choir (1st–6th grade) will practice from 9:00–10:00am. Preschoolers and Kindergarteners will be dismissed around 9:30am and Choir kids by 10:00am.
SEE YOU AT THE MOVIES
Mark your calendars for a fun evening with your church family! We’re hosting a free movie night featuring The Best Christmas Pageant Ever on Tuesday, December 17, at 6:00pm at the Mankato Cinemark River Hills Mall Movies 8. We’ve reserved two theaters just for River of LIFE, and this event is completely free for you to attend! To make sure we have enough tickets for everyone, if you haven’t already, please let us know how many will be coming from your family.
HELP WITH REFRESHMENT CLEANUP
We are looking for a few more people to help with refreshment cleanup after the worship service. It isn’t a hard job, just emptying the coffee containers and making sure things are put away around that area and in the kitchen. It only takes about 5–10 minutes. We hope to get enough people on the list so that you would only need to serve in that role once every few months, much like the vacuum rotation for the church.
