LEARN MORE ABOUT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Over the next few weeks, we will be having short informational meetings between worship services where we will talk about different volunteer opportunities we have. We will explain about what each volunteer role’s duties are. Next week, October 9th we will talk about serving communion and ushering. No obligation to sign up if you attend, just come for the info. 9:30 in the narthex.
LOOKING FOR DONATIONS
We need a few large area rugs to put in our Sunday School rooms to help cut down on noise. Let us know if you have something you would like to donate.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
Children’s Christmas Program will be held Sunday, December 18th during the 10:30 worship service. Looking for volunteers to help with: music, staging costume/props and more. Please talk to Dawn Eberhart if interested in helping.
SUBSTITUTE SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS
We need a few more people that are willing to serve as a substitute teacher for Sunday School. We have an easy-to-use curriculum and provide all the supplies. Talk to Tracy Stuewe or Kate Meyer if you are able to help.
FACILITY MAINTENANCE
We have a list of jobs that need to be done around the church. Some examples: changing lightbulbs, assembling things etc. Check out the list on the whiteboard in the volunteer room to see if there is something you can help with. This is not a committee or ongoing commitment, just what works for you at that time. Talk to Tracy if you have any questions.
YOUTH GROUPS
Sr High Youth Group (Grades 9-12) is meeting tonight @ 6:30pm at the Friends Bldg (old Soderlund Drug Bldg.)
OCTOBERFEST / FALL FESTIVAL
We are looking for people to plan a church fall festival / Octoberfest event. Event scheduled for Sunday, Oct 30. There is a planning meeting Tuesday, Oct 4th @ 5:30pm. Talk to Kate Meyer if interested in helping out. FALL CLEANUP Many hands makes light work. Join us on Saturday, October 30th for Fall cleanup. There will some indoor and some outdoor jobs to do. Fun for everyone!
CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL
There is a possibility of a Christian high school opening in Mankato as soon as the 2023/2024 school year. There is an open house at the potential school building on October 3rd @ 5:30pm (709 South Broad Street, Mankato). Neither River of LIFE or the LCMS is leading this cause, we are only sharing the information that was given to us. Flyers are posted in the narthex.
